The 12 rules for life
I have always had a feeling that psychology holds a very important role in our lives. This entire blog has been all about how to change your habits and mindset to enjoy the benefits that come with it. Jordan Peterson wrote a book which he titled the 12 rules of life and I thought it was life changing. So I have decided to dedicate the next 4 weeks trying my very best to explain what I got from the book and maybe convince you to get the book. So the 12 rules in summary are :
1. Stand up straight with your shoulders back
2. Treat yourself like you are someone responsible for helping
3. Make friends with those people who want the best for you.
4. Compare yourself to who you were yesterday and not to who someone else is today
5. Don't let your children do anything that will make you dislike them
6. Put your house in perfect order before you criticize the world
7. Do what is meaning and not what is expedient
8. Tell the truth or at least don't lie
9. Assume that the person you are listening to knows something you don't
10. Be precise with your speech
11. Don't bother children when they are skateboarding
12. Pet a cat when you encounter one down the street
At first glance some of these rules don't make any sense due to their simplicity but they are indeed the 12 rules that will shape your life into what it should be. So I will summarize each rule to the best of my abilities and hopefully you will be moved as much as I was. Have a blessed week and Thank God its Monday.
