Ask and you shall receive

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you" Matthew 7 vs 7. This has been one of the most used verses in the entire bible and a lot of its users have their own different interpretations about it. In my view this scripture presents a condition and a result. The condition for receiving is asking so if you do not ask then you can not receive. This the implies that whenever you ask you have received but a lot of people have asked and not received...Why is that?
The bible talks about faith a lot and it even goes on to say without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11 vs 6). What this says to me is any action that is not done in faith is not pleasing to God and likewise any prayer that is not based in faith is not pleasing to God.

So my question to you this week is Do you really believe that your prayers have been answered ?

"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." ~ Mark 11 vs 24. Here again we find the word believe being paired with asking in order to receive. It does not talk about feeling anything or seeing anything...it talks about belief  in order that you may receive. In light of this, I am made to believe that anything that is asked for through faith will happen but only if you truly believe that you will get it. This means that the moment you are done asking you should get up and start living your answered prayer. If this is not believing then I don't know what is.

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." ~ Hebrews 11 vs 1. Again faith is put as a standalone condition where feelings and what we see are not mentioned, rather it is stated as an assurance about what we do not see. This on its own should teach us about the nature of faith in that it does not function when with our 5 senses because more often than not faith and sight do not go hand in hand. So the moment you find yourself looking for an answer then you are not acting out of faith.

A preacher from my church once told me that when you pray once, believe it has been answered and move on with life because it has. He was only trying to tell me that as soon as you are done asking, work towards that thing you have asked for believing that you will get it because that is what God said and he never goes against his word.

The verse of the week will have to be 2 Corinthians 5 vs 7 which says "For we walk by faith and not by sight". Have a blessed week and Thank God its Monday
