Speak it into existence

 I am sure we are all familiar with the story of creation where God in all his might spoke everything into existence. Trees and animals alike all came from the words that came from God. To me this means that God's words are alive and active and they cause things to come into existence meaning they have creative capabilities. The power of words is shown clearly in the opening scriptures and the beauty of it is on the 6th day God created man in his own image and likeness. 

So there are many interpretations to this verse but the point I am putting out is the same creative capabilities that the words that came from God have are the same creative capabilities that your words have. Have you ever wondered why man has always wanted to create, invent and provide some kind of innovation . This  is mainly because we are creators by nature and we were given that ability so that we could create the world that we wanted and shape our lives how we want them to be.



Proverbs 18 vs 21 says "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit " This is just one verse from the bible that shows us just how powerful the tongue is and the words that come from it. Imagine death and life being subject to your tongue, what more the smaller less significant things of life? Here are a few verses I picked up which can further stress the power of the tongue:

  • Proverbs 21 vs 23
  • 1 Peter 3 vs 10
  • Colossians 4 vs 6
  • Proverbs 15 vs 4
I am sure there are many other verses that you may know that speak about the tongue...feel free to share and help others with them. " The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD " ~ King Solomon(Proverbs 21 vs 31).This is a verse I got from my little brother during one of our family devotions and it really got me thinking. In ancient times the horse was considered one of the finest beasts man could ever own and use for his/her personal use. Before it was used for agricultural purposes it was mostly used for transportation and for war as the soldiers would ride atop of it into battle. The horses were readied for battle a day or 2 prior to battle so that when the day arrives they are in perfect shape and would prove to be an advantage to their owners. King Solomon however knew something that a majority of people didn't know, that we may have the finest horses but victory rests or lies with the Lord. Value your identity

Our past as many would argue is always going to be a huge part of our life. The sad part is a majority of the memories we remember are those in which our lives were at an all time low. This can be a certain failure, heartbreak or some other catastrophic event. Continuously replaying such events unintentionally molds us into the people we are and would result in loss of confidence, depression and just a general lack of purpose or value in life. If these things don't shape us then the constant criticism we receive from friends and family molds us unfortunately.
