Take one step at a time

"The saddest thing in life is wasted talent and the choices you make will shape your life forever" ~ Chazz Palminteri. However small a decision seems we need to know that it will in one way or the other shape how we our life goes. Not taking action is a decision on its own as well and at times this may have a lot of negative effects on our lives. For example if you find yourself in a situation with which you are not pleased with you need to take action and get yourself out of that situation. Ideas die when one continuously procrastinates to the point where everything they had planned in their mind just fades away. This week i have combined a list of things that one can do in order to ensure that you get things done effectively :
  • Don't wait
I recently learn about the 2% rule which simply states that for every idea we have we should immediately take action and do something to get the ball rolling. When one gets an idea they tend to overthink it and continue postponing until the whole idea just fades away. So for every idea you get you should do something immediately that pushes your 2% closer to achieving it.
  • Change the way you think
This blog's theme over the last 40 or so weeks has been dealing with the mind. I personally feel that the best way to outmaneuver yourself out of any situation would be to first of all change the way you perceive the situation. "Do not be conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind...." ~ Romans 12 vs 2. Changing how you look at a situation means that you are now on top of it and are in control of your emotions towards it. So don't look at a problem the way everyone else looks at it because you will not go anywhere.
  • Be patient
"Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting"~ Joyce Meyer. In everything we do as a means to get closer to our goals we need to understand that Rome was not built in a day. We need to be in a position where we are patient enough to start small while thinking big. "Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer." ~ Romans 12 vs 12. This verse for me just emphasizes how important patience is.
  • Don' try to please everyone
In life we often get to a point where we try to be everything to everyone every time. For your own mental health this is definitely not good. “You wouldn’t worry so much about what others think of you if you realized how seldom they do.” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt. At times we strain and stress ourselves all in the name oft trying to please people. A financial trap people often fall into is buying things we can't afford to try and please people we don't like.
As the week progresses I hope we all get to a point were it sinks into our hearts that we are who we think we are meaning that whatever you see yourself as is exactly what you are. Make that one tiny step towards you goals and be patient enough to remain consistent in all that you do. Have a blessed week and Thank God its Monday
