You are still in charge
At a time when the world is literally on fire and everything just seems to be crumbling all around you, it is hard to stay positive and optimistic for a brighter tomorrow. This has been a tough year already due to economic and health disasters rocking the nation and the world as a whole. Personally i have had days were I just instinctively felt like giving up and living a passive life because being proactive was proving to be hard. There are times were I just felt an uncontrollable wave of negative energy and I almost gave in but I have been conditioning my mind for times like these and I am confident we will be alright. I thought I would share some of the things that have helped me keep a level head and focus on the end goal rather than be distracted by the process instead of enjoying it.
- Remain grateful
I know it may seem impractical to find good in every situation life springs up on you especially in such trying times. You are right....it takes a lot of dedication and practice to master the art of being grateful. A simple method I learnt is to say out loud 5 things you are grateful for when you wake up and 5 things you were grateful for during the day when you go to bed. You can even write these down to keep a record on how your life is progressing and you will notice that though the steps may be small it is still progress nonetheless. - Kill the anxiety
It is really hard for anyone to predict where exactly we are going to be in the next few months and it is really difficult to not feel any level of anxiety at this stage. Anxiety can be defined as a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease about something with an uncertain outcome. The problem with accommodating anxiety is that it always sparks panic which in turn result in making irrational decisions which will do more harm than good. I learnt about a technique called the "Span of control" whereby you put most or all of your mental energy on things that you have control over. Focus on these things and kill the anxiety that is building up. - Keep it together
Someone told me that life is like a ship, it has a lot of technical stuff going on in the background but the direction of the ship is determined by the steering wheel (I have forgotten what it is called). Keep your hands on the steering wheel of your own life and just believe that everything that is going on in the background is working in your favor. Times are hard and it truly is difficult to keep a level head in this situation but it is essential to keep a level head and live in the moment while focusing on tomorrow for it will be a brighter day.
Indeed we are going through trying time as a planet but it is very important that we stay connected and ensure that we are there for each other. Practice social distancing, improve your hygiene and just stay safe. In the good times we often forget that things will get bad and in the bad times we often forget that things will be good as well. Stay positive and remember that eventually all of this will blow over and the sun will shine again. Have a blessed week, stay safe and Thank God its Monday
Thank u I have learnt to be grateful for 5things in the morning and at night . positive mind
