Everything is a season
I remember
in primary school when we were taught about the different seasons and their
characteristics. At the time this was nothing more than an afternoon jingle we
always recited but growing up I began realizing that it was a life lesson on
its own. Life comes with different seasons which represent different times. The problem we often have is that when
things are bad, we forget that they were once good and they will get good,
equally when things are good we forget that they were once bad and they will
get bad. It is very easy to fall into depression and feel powerless when your
situation gets bad but maintaining a strong positive mindset is the only thing
that will help you surf through the rough waves of life. To help you stand
strong and continue your journey I have come up with 3 things that will ensure
you keep a tunnel vision perspective on your goals and achieve them no matter
what.
- Practice gratitude in everything
The art of constant gratitude and thanksgiving is easily one of the most helpful things I have learnt over the past year. The simple act of saying thank you and just feeling yourself with feelings of gratitude brings much joy and happiness in your life. You find that your whole perspective on life is changed for the better and you will always find something good in the gloomiest of situations. Oprah Winfrey has been known to keep a gratitude journal where she writes all the things that she is grateful for at the beginning and end of every day. This according to her keeps her mind and heart in the right place. So practice thanksgiving in everything you do every day. - Don’t relax
It may sound weird, but I have learnt to ignore both critics and compliments. I ignore the negative critics because I do not allow any negativity in my personal space plus taking a lot of negative things to heart may make a not so bad situation seem like the end of the world. I ignore the compliments as well because the moment I let it get to my head I then find myself relaxing and being content with were I am and what I have. The problem with this is that progressing from either stage becomes very difficult. No matter what situation you find yourself in either good or bad, relaxing is not an option.
- Tunnel Vision your dream
The title says it all basically. Tunnel vision entails keeping your eyes on the prize always. The external environment can be truly harsh at times and maintaining laser beam focus on your goals becomes very difficult. My advice would be to either write the goal down or have a picture that reminds you of the goal in your pocket at al times or somewhere it is easily accessible. Every time you feel as if life is kicking you hard us take a look at the text or image and remind yourself why you are doing what you are doing and soldier on until you reach your goal.
This is going to be an amazing week for the person who is following their dreams and passion. Keep the end goal in sight and never take your eyes of the prize. Have a blessed week and Thank God its Monday

Life is truly season .I will surely have a gratitude journal .😁
