Living a narrow life

“When a man or woman has a vision their life becomes very tight” ~ Dr Myles Munroe. This is one of my favorite quotes because I feel like vision makes life very simple. I strongly believe that once you know were you are going you automatically know which roads will take you there, who will take you there and what you need to avoid as well. Vision for me defines what you need to do, it gives a clear view of your destination. It becomes easy to say no because whatever offered to you needs to align to what you see for yourself, if not then its not for you.

The reason for most people not living the lives that they want to in my view is to a greater extent their lack of knowledge on who they are. Self discovery is possibly the best thing that can ever happen in your life. I think the term life begins at 40 was coined after they realized that on average people slowly get into who they really are and start becoming more of themselves around 40. This could be a result of numerous years of trial and error then finally narrowing down on who they really are and what their purpose is. Ironically this is the age that most successful business are started because the owner would have reached a substantial level of self actualization.

Success is something that is acquired, in most instances it is over a long period of time. We should always strive to be people of value. Value addition is of paramount importance if we are to live successful lives. We should look to add value to our peers, workmates, business partners and families. The only way you can add value in my view is by focusing on that which you are good at and focusing on becoming the best at whatever it is that you do.

Living a narrow life entails shedding off a lot of things and cutting off a lot off people. Choose your friends and habits wisely because in the end they shape who you become in the future. Being selfish with your time and vision is allowed because in the end its your happiness that comes first.
Ask yourself these questions :
  1. Who am I?
  2. Am I were i want to be?
  3. How do i get to where i want to be ?
  4. Who do i need to get me there ?
  5. What needs to be done for me to get there ?
