Strive for progres not perfection

"Never discourage anyone who makes progress, no matter how slow...even if that person is yourself" ~Plato. Success is a long hard journey, it takes a lot of self discipline and determination. Within this hard journey there are often times where you feel like giving up because "IT IS HARD" but the honest truth is the harder it gets, the closer you are to where you want to be. I am sure a great number of people have already set their new year's resolutions and some are already on the verge of giving up. Well there are still 11 more months to go and you can still make it. I have compile a short list of things i feel could be of some assistance in your quest to fulfill these new year resolutions :

  • Snowball
This to me is one of the most effective ways to ensure efficient progress. The snowball effect represents a continuous growth in small increments. This simply means that you need to use the momentum gained from one victory to propel you to the next. That in turn means that you increase your achievements  since you have enough momentum. So TAKE ACTION TODAY
  • Get specific and clear
It is easier to write of a generalized goal than it is a smaller more objective goal. For example instead of saying i want to read more this year, try and say i want to read at least one book a month. This means that when you could have read 0 books you are now actually in a position to read 12 books. This is the progress that we want. It may seem like a small change but it is a habit that has already been planted.
  • Value what you do
The reason why most people barely stick to their resolutions or see them through is as a result of them not really seeing the value of what they are doing. It is much much easier to reach a goal which is derived from something you love and are passionate about. So make sure that you value your goals and you value the work you put in to reach those goals.
  • Find a manager
A manager in most companies is someone who holds people accountable and ensures that all work is done and done well. The same should apply in our day to day routines, we need to find someone who holds us accountable and always keeps us on track in our quest to reach our goals.
You need to ask yourself what goal you need to make clearer and who will hold you accountable and be your manager. Remember you are amazing and you can achieve whatever you put your mind to, get your hands dirty and put in the work to reach your goals. Have a blessed and fruitful week and Thank God its Monday.
