Become the best version of yourself

Image
When we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better too. I have dedicated this week to SELF IMPROVEMENT . I believe that the moment you better yourself and improve your self value , the world begins to see and desire the value that you possess and this will take you places. We have heard truly inspirational stories of successful people like Oprah Winfrey who came from humble beginnings and rose to influential positions through following her passion and constantly bettering herself. We need to be addicted to constant never ending self-improvement . So as usual i have compiled a list of ways in which you can actively work on improving yourself and becoming the best version of yourself. Surround yourself with greatness.       People don't always like and they don't always want whats best for you. If you surround yourself with people who are not accustomed to your success they become scared because you are showing them something they do...

Let's talk about change for a change

Image
Have you ever looked at someone and just admire how stable and centered their life is or how they seem to just be above everything. These people just make you feel as if there is much more to life than the current situation with which you find yourself in, they inspire you to desire to be a happier more productive version of yourself. I have often found it easy to change my mindset and set it on positive mode but the problem I have always faced was that positive mode only lasted for a few hours or a day at best. The moment “life” happens then I automatically go back to my default setting where insecurities, fear, procrastination and low levels of productivity are the order of the day. However this week I saw a whatsapp status from an old friend of mine which had the message ‘Lets talk about change for a change’. The statement on its own got me thinking about how people so often throw the word change around a lot but never really have the zeal or knowledge on how to actually change...

Life is a verb

Have you ever wondered how the successful people of this world have managed to get to the positions that they are in and how they have managed to achieve so much in just one lifetime? This previous week we had a very interesting discussion at my church which came from a fellow church member. He titled the topic life is a verb which was based on SUCCESS and HOW TO ACHIEVE IT. For me it was very interesting simply because I am in that phase of my life where its either make or break, the phase which will probably determine what I am going to be doing for the rest of my life. His entire presentation got me thinking about how many people have world changing ideas that we may never get to see all because they choose to live life on autopilot. My firm belief is that anyone who is between the ages of 20 and 30 feels this insatiable urge to do something and change the world or leave their mark on the world and well some just want to get crazy rich regardless of the process.  From the di...

Lessons from the track

Image
I remember back in primary school we were “forced” to take physical education as a class and at that time my body was not built for any physical activity that did not include food. Just try and imagine a short chubby boy in small shorts sweating and panting just after 200 meters of running and unable to continue even though he still had 1300 meters left. We have all been through a point in time where we had been so victimized by life to the extent that one small victory caused our minds to instantly shut down and our body to follow suit. The irony of such a situation is that the body seems to be the one that is exhausted when in fact it is our mind that has resigned because the immediate target has been met even though the actual goal is still far from achievement.  It was when I went to high school that I discovered that there was a technique  for these long-distance races. These methods were taught to ensure that the athletes learn to reserve their energy to rel...

Improve quality of life through stress management

The world as a whole is just a loud    “noise-box”    and it takes a certain kind of mentality to stay level headed.  Have you ever felt as if your pulse rate has suddenly increased or your muscles have been tense for a long time even though you haven't been working out or exercising, if the answer is a yes then you are among the 65% or 5.005 billion majority of the world population that has been experiencing STRESS. Try and imagine that period in time were your appetite is not as sharp as it should be and you just can't fall asleep no matter how many sheep you count or slow songs you listen to.  The daily struggles of making ends meet and ensuring the welfare of those we love and are responsible for can take a heavy toll on both your mental and physical health. Stress affects people differently, some end up getting high blood pressure, some get migraine headaches, some experience appetite loss, sleepless nights, mood swings and a general disinteres...
